Minister of State for Textile (Independent charge), Govt. of India inaugurated Awareness Programme for Pradhanmantri Fasal Beema Yojna

An awareness programme on Pradhanmantri Fasal BeemaYojna was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, IVRI, Izatnagar on 16th April, 2016 along with Kisan Sammelan and Agricultural Exhibition.

The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Santosh Gangwar Ji, Minister of State for Textile (Independent charge), Govt of India as Chief Guest and Hon’ble Shri Dharmendra Kashyap Ji, Member of Parliament as Guest of Honor.

Shri Santosh Gangwar appreciated IVRI for organizing this important event and emphasized for organizing more number of awareness campaign at village level so that more number of farmers can derive benefit out of it. He also called upon the farmers to be in touch with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra for their technical empowerment. He advised the farmers to take the benefit of the various development schemes for agricultural sector, which have recently been launched by the Government of India for the upliftment and improve the income of the farmers at least by two folds.

The Guest of honor, Shri Dharmendra Kashyap, Member of Parliament, spoke about important issues related to the farmers welfare. He explained the various facets of the newly launched Pradhanmantri Fasal BeemaYojona and informed the farmers that this new scheme is not only more easy to understand but more beneficial to the farmers.

Dr. Rajkumar Singh, Director IVRI and Chairperson of the programme spoke about the various livestock technologies and the outreach programmes of the institute, the medium for transfer of the technologies. The programme began with the welcome address by Joint Director, Extension Education, Dr. A.K. Garg, who also presented a brief outline of the Pradhanmantri Fasal Beema Yojna. Dr. Atar Singh, Principal Scientist of ATARI, Zone-IV, Kanpur informed the farmers about various schemes viz., soil health card, e- marketing etc. launched recently by the Govt. of India for the welfare of the farmers.

At this occasion, 25 innovative farmers including farm women were honored by presenting them a certificate, a sapling of lemon, Anga Vastra and Pashu Chocolate by Hon’ble Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.

A total of 1050 farmers and farm women from different villages of Bareilly district participated in this programme. They were given the farm literature and shown the film on Pradhanmantri Fasal Beema Yojna.
